About Helensburgh Hockey Club

Helensburgh Hockey Club was founded on 20 April 1974 by a group of former Hermitage Academy pupils who wanted to keep playing after leaving school. At the same time, personnel from the nearby Naval Base were also looking for regular competitive hockey — and from those beginnings the club quickly became part of the local community.

Over the years the club has grown into a well-established and recognised part of sport in Helensburgh, maintaining strong links with the town and continuing to welcome new generations of players.

Today we run two senior teams competing in the West District leagues, providing hockey for a range of abilities — from competitive first team matches to development and social hockey.

  • 1st XI – West District Division 1

  • 2nd XI – West District Division 3

More than anything, we pride ourselves on being a club where people stay for years — not just for the hockey, but for the community around it.
